What a surprise… I wrote in here the next day. Maybe I will actually make something of this blog yet.
I didn’t get much done at the office today. The card didn’t work again as usual. I spent most of the day going through mailing list archives to see if anyone else had this problem. I didn’t find any matches. That is worrisome because there is either no easy solution, or the thing is broken. I will put together a write-up of the problem and have Dr. Reddy send a message to the guy at Intel to see if he has any ideas.
On the other hand, while I was near campus, I went and opened up an account at the credit union. I decided that I would go with a money market account. It has higher interest rates, but I can only touch it 6 times a month. Hmm, 6, I MIGHT use 1 on some months, so that should work well for me. Besides, I have a checking account for such things. I was actually surprised to find out that they do cash savings bonds. Something to remember for the future.
On the way home, there was a Marine helicopter on the polo fields. From a distance, I could see that they were asking everyone to get back. The crowd of about 30 people or so were standing about 20 feet away from the sidewalk I was on, so I joined them. I saw the pre-flight check, and then they took off. I never realized just how much wind comes off of those things. It felt like a really nasty storm. I should have realized it because those things are heavy, and it needs that much pressure below the blades to get off the ground. Anyway, it was really cool to see so close.
Then I got home, and put in message plugin support for Fire. It took 2 hours, but I really enjoyed doing it. I made my oscar debug a plugin, so now that code is outside of the main CVS. I think it is better that way. Now if I can only fix the bugs in the multiple buddy lists that was reported on the mailing list this morning.
Anyway, off to a restful evening. Until next time.
